Autism More Common Than Assumed

The prevalence of autism and autism spectrum disorders, based on research relying on evaluation of medical records, has long been assumed to be about 1 in 110. But a new study in the American Journal of Psychiatry evaluating children for autism where they live, instead of just through their medical records, reveals a surprisingly higher prevalence.
